Simplifying Regulations for 2026

General insurance licensees in Saskatchewan must earn CE credits each annual reporting period (based on the licensee's individual licensing anniversary), by licence class:

  • Property & Casualty (general insurance): 12 credits — reduced to 8 for licensees with 25+ years' continuous P&C experience, or who hold a recognized designation (AIIC, CAIB, CCIB, CIP, CPCU, CRM, FCIP, FIIC, FRM)

  • Restricted Auto: 3 credits

  • Restricted Travel: 3 credits

  • Adjuster: 8 credits

  • Crop Hail Adjuster: 6 credits every 2 years

CE must be directly related to the licensee's licence class (P&C products/services or agency management; auto; travel; claims handling). Sales, promotion and motivation courses do not qualify; computer-training courses do not qualify except brokerage/client-management-system training, which may count up to 25% of the annual requirement under limited conditions. 1 hour = 1 credit; minimum 1-hour course; maximum 8 credits per day; no carry-forward between reporting periods. Licensees self-report annually and must keep certificates for at least 4 years for audit
